Best Vacation Rentals in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach

Beachfront condos along the shoreline, seen from the water

The first decision in booking an Alabama beach vacation rental isn't the house — it's who manages it. The national platforms list everything, but a big share of the condos and beach houses here are run by local management companies, some of them family-run for decades. Booking with a good local manager usually means a cleaner house, a human who answers when the AC quits on a Saturday, and — if you book direct instead of through a platform — no service fee skimmed off the top.

Here's a quick map of the areas, what stays typically cost, and the local managers we'd book with.

Picking your area

Gulf Shores is the classic beach town: the public beach and Gulf Place at the center, condo towers east toward Gulf State Park, and West Beach's houses going quieter toward Little Lagoon. Orange Beach, ten minutes east, is the tower town — big Gulf-front resorts along Perdido Beach Boulevard, the marina and charter fleet, and The Wharf on the Intracoastal for evenings. Fort Morgan, down the peninsula west of Gulf Shores, is the quiet end: scattered beach houses, pet-friendly stretches of sand, the historic fort at Mobile Point, and a ferry across to Dauphin Island — the pick for families who want space more than nightlife.

Typical costs (ballparks as of late 2026, and wildly seasonal): a Gulf-front condo in peak summer commonly runs $250–$550 a night, beach houses from $400 to well past $1,500 for the big Gulf-front homes, while winter monthly stays — snowbird season is a real season here — can drop to a fraction of summer rates. Platform service fees can add 10% or more on top; booking direct with the manager is the easiest money you'll save on the whole trip. Book summer early — the best-managed homes go first.

Why local managers

Every company below is based here on the Alabama Gulf Coast and manages homes in the areas above — statements-and-service operations that answer to owners and guests in the same zip codes. The list is deliberately short: it only includes managers based locally, and it grows only as we verify more of them. (Homeowners: these are also the names to interview if you're shopping for management.) Tell us your dates and area in the form and we'll reply with the managers who fit.

Our picks

Editorial picks based on public reputation. Ratings are Google reviews (Oct 2026) and change over time. No business pays for placement, and a listing doesn't imply the business endorses this site. Photos are stock scenery of the activity — not the business itself.
